Lufdesign (Tsunho Wang, President) is pleased to announce that the ‘Leaf Tie’ is the recipient of a 2010 Design for Asia (DFA) Silver Award.

The DFA Awards are organized by the Hong Kong Design Centre with the purpose of raising awareness amongst businesses and the public about the value of good design as an essential component in business success, as well as for a sustainable, higher quality of life for all. This year’s winners were selected from approximately 400 commercial products released in one or more Asian markets by manufacturers from the world over during a period of roughly two years and seven months—from January 1, 2008 to July 31, 2010. From these, winners were selected based on superiority of design, degree of impact on the Asian lifestyle, and commercial success.

As one of the winners for the DFA Award 2010, Leaf Tie has exhibited at the HKTDC Inno Design Tech (IDT) Expo in Honk Kong on 2 – 4 December 2010.

SaverClip induce people not to waste electricity by showing Electromagnetic Fields (which is detected by safer clip) on its display, in that way people can recognize the amount of electricity being wasted.

If there is a leaking tap, anyone would like to close it. In the same way, if there is leaking electric power, anyone would like to cut it off. However, unfortunately, we do not even notice the leaking, or wasted energy due to standby power, because we cannot see, or hear it.

SaverClip is charged by electromagnetic fields, which come from the electric wire plug, and Its display shows the amount of the power needed for the each devices. When the devices are off, safer clip displays standby-power being wasted and induce them to stop wasting it.

ECORD is a compound word of Economy and Electric cord which has significance of ‘Eco-Design’.

ECORD protects environment by efficiently reducing energy waste due to the ‘Standby Power’. ECORD is designed environment-friendly, and is competitive product with its function and quality.

An ordinary electric cord that we can see every day is simply regarded as a connecting device for transferring electric power.
It seems to have no particular function and just left on the floor.
However electric cord has been, and will be necessary for carrying electric power for a long time.
Invention of ECORD is started from the idea to utilize the PVC-covered surface of electric cord by implementing some clever technology to feedback users with information about such as power waste, overload.

ECORD makes users aware of their standby power waste by display current flow, and therefore helps them to cut down the leak.

ECORD has a patterned new composition on its PVC covering. This composition stays invisible, but appears when the specific range (From 1 to 15W) of current is provided. If there is any loss due to standby power, the pattern (or any graphics made of the composition) appears on the ECORD surface, therefore users are easily able to notice it. Any information of unusual current, such as overload can be provided in the same way.

Using ECORD in not merely using electric cord, but saving environment, and further, saving the earth by reducing energy consumption.

Many countries are trying to cut down the standby power by encouraging people to pull out their plug, or turn off multi-tab, which is very inconvenient, and even bothersome. However, if any electric device is plugged on, energy waste due to standby power will be continued.
To eliminate this inconvenience, ECORD is equipped on-off switch on it plug.

People often become stiff when their picture is taken. Commands like “Say cheese” or counting down from three to one only makes them more uncomfortable and the photos more unnatural looking. With the FlyingStick digital camera, you don’t need any countdowns or goofy sayings. It automatically takes pictures by itself as it flies through the air. Since no one knows when the shutter is released, you get photos that look more natural and relaxed.

I got the idea for FlyingStick when I saw a child playing with a propeller toy at the park. I also had in my head the concept of a dandelion seed flying through the air when the wind blows. FlyingStick’s propeller-like form keeps the device airborne like a dandelion seed caught in a breeze.

Because the face makes the photo, the integrated face-detection technology can recognize up to seven faces in a photo. FlyingStick automatically controls focus, exposure, color and flash to bring out the best in everyone. The embedded gyro-stabilizer keeps the digital camera stabilized while FlyingStick is in flight. The stabilizer is designed to control a wide range of shake and spin frequencies for optimal focusing.

Just like a toy propeller, you make FlyingStick fly with your hands. Put it between the palms of you hands, rub them together and launch it into the sky. While it is sails though the air, the integrated camera takes continuous photos. As people run after FlyingStick, their focus is on trying to catch it, not on posing for a picture—so people will have a more natural smile and relaxed look in the photos. What better way to record your memories—and play at the same time.

By morphing the function of the dust-pin with that of the trash-can, a new hybrid is born: this dustpan that has a function, even when not in use, to put waste as a trashcan. This dust-pin seem like just dust-pin, but it’s not only a dust-pin but also trash can. It would be easier to sweep waste and dust. when you finish sweeping a room clean, you just turn the bottom of “Triangle” at an angle of 90 degrees.
It will be a trash can. Maybe your sweeping is too so quit being lazy and you empty the trash bin already!.

The artificial cables all around us make a more dark and cold environment. The Leaf tie takes the cables and wraps the cables while bringing life to a dull area. It serves the dual purpose of design and efficiency. The Leaf tie is easy to use. It is simply used in the same manner as the cable-tie. All you have to do is wrap the Leaf Tie around the loose cables. The design of the Leaf tie makes the cables look like wrapped twigs. For young children or people that live in the city that tire from the artificially modern environment, the Leaf tie can for a short while let them experience a hint of nature.

The cables were always exposed among the complicated buildings or the buildings in the quiet rural alleys. By using the leaf tie you can feel sympathy for the blossom sprout and when strung together in subways underground, were light can’t reach, you get a brief sense of nature and life. Beyond simple beauty, the leaf ties can carry a meaning such as the yellow safety ribbons tied to oak trees. Exhibiting the leaf ties can be used to start an awareness movement directed toward an issue called “Green Environment & Safe Earth”.

Most computer peripherals used today are connected by cables. These cables are difficult to place in an orderly manner and tend to entwine with one another. The weight of the cables forces the lines to fall to the ground.

The Fork is a product that takes an everyday USB or mouse cable and transforms the appearance. Picture a messy plate of spaghetti neatly twisted onto a fork placed above a layer of cream sauce right before it is ready to be eaten. The Fork creates a similar picture with any cable. However, the white iPod and iPhone cables look exceptionally well with this product.

The Fork is a product that lets us reminisce into the past of our early childhood days. Through this product, a simple cable can allow us to imagine a fun-filled picture like the spaghetti previously mentioned. The creative and fun design can enhance further the imaginative minds of children.

The profits made from this product are used to benefit causes for children in need.

“Buy One, Feed a Child!”

Do you remember one of the toys which we used to play with when we were young – a magnet. Particularly, a U magnet, which has been remember as a toy with strong attraction in an unusual shape. By the time we got to know magnetic forces, we might have realized careful concerns and attention. The ‘Your Magnet’ connects you and me with strong attraction, not as the magnetic attraction between the N pole and the S pole, but as the links between human beings or between humans/non-humans.

Memory products such as iPhone or iPod should usually be kept out of magnets because all MP3 files you have could be deleted by the magnetic property. Except these, however, there is no problem even if any device is contacted by ‘Your Magnet’. It is because they are attached by the influence of not magnetism but the suction plate.

Your Magnet is a new type of lamp that can be attached to mobile devices such as iPhone, iPod and any mobile device. Its angle can freely be adjusted by being erected or laid on the back. It is fun and comfortable for watching movies or video clips at home or at work, browsing the Internet, or using apps. In addition, its grab is more stable if your fingers are placed along the magnet space. While lying down, you can easily send text messages to your lover or friends.

These two features of the various angle adjustments and the stable grip are not all. ‘Your Magnet’ can be attached to make a shaver or small props hung on the bathroom mirror or small pegs hung in the kitchen. As it is portable, you can take it anywhere/anytime, or place it anywhere. It not only creates an interesting idea, but also serves as a useful stuff.
